Medical Camp for Pourakarmikas
The Medical Camp for Pourakarmikas (garbage cleaners) – Officially appointed by Bangalore Corporation -) in Ward No. 28 was a grand success. There were close to 100 people who underwent a General Check-up that screened for general health, diabetes and eye problems.
Three Rotary Clubs partnered with Vishwa Jhanani – Rotary Sadhashivangar provided medicines, Rotary Kalyan Nagar provided health cards and publicity and Rotary Green City helped us getting the Bangalore Nethralaya involved in the project.
We also organized Doctors and Nurses of ‘The Specialist Hospital’ to conduct the diabetes check up and providing the glucometer, test strips etc.
Medical Camp for Pourakarmikas
The R.T. Nagar Institute referred a destitute girl child to Vishwa Jhanani. We helped her by admitting her in school before which we coordinated with a couple of schools and helped her with the entrance examination. We hope to find a sponsor for the child so that she is able to continue with her education.
Proposed Projects
Medical Camp for Pourakarmikas
We hope to replicate the medical camp in Ward No. 28 across all the 198 wards across the city. To make this possible we started off with our area Counselor Mr. Ganesh Reddy who has agreed to help us with this project.
Dental Medical Camp for Pourakarmikas
Our trustee Ms. Lochana contacted Dr. Susheela David, who has agreed to help us organize a camp that will screen people for HIV and well as a basic dental check up.
